Team Europe has announced its captain for the 2026 Solheim Cup, and it is a legend of the event.

Anna Nordqvist of Sweden will serve as captain in the next edition of the Solheim Cup in the Netherlands after Suzann Pettersen was the leader for the last two.

Nordqvist, 37, is a three-time major champion, with her most recent coming at the 2017 Open Championship. She has played on every European Solheim Cup team since 2009, building up a 17-15-3 record across her nine playings. She has won or retained the cup in five of those playings.

Over the last two playings in 2023 and 2024, she has served as a vice captain in addition to playing. This likely opened the door for her to take the reigns in 2026.

Team USA has not yet announced who the captain will be for 2026, but expect it relatively soon after this announcement.
