After one round at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, held at Long Cove Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina, the No. 2 ranked Arkansas Razorbacks hold a one stroke lead over SEC rival LSU.

Senior Kendall Todd, a transfer from UNLV, really drove the scoring for the Razorbacks. Despite a double bogey on the par 4 10, she still managed a -3 68, propelled by six birdies. Todd is currently the No. 41 ranked player in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. Individually she is one stroke ahead of Mississippi sophomore Sam Whateley.

Everyone on Arkansas performed relatively well, with the lowest counting score being a +5 76 from star Maria Jose Marin, the No. 5 ranked amateur in the world. Expect Arkansas to perform even better today if she can get to the form we are used to seeing out of her.

No. 22 LSU also saw consistent performances, which ranged from even par to +3 for the day. Like Arkansas, LSU’s most high profile player Áine Donegan also struggled a bit, shooting the third best score on the team at +2.

Of the top 10 on the leaderboard, five teams are ranked in the top 10 in the polls, so a lot can fluctuate with a field this strong.
